This Level 2 course is designed for learners who want to build on their existing knowledge and progress further into education support roles. Delivered fully online over six weeks, the programme deepens understanding of safeguarding, Prevent duties, and behaviour that challenges, supporting confident progression into school-based roles or Level 3 study.

Course Overview

This Level 2 programme develops learners’ understanding of key responsibilities within education and support settings, with a strong focus on safeguarding, Prevent awareness, and managing behaviour that challenges.

The course is ideal for learners who have completed a Level 1 qualification or have relevant experience and are looking to progress into classroom support, pastoral roles, or further education and training.

Course Description

Delivered through structured daily online learning, this course helps learners develop the confidence, knowledge, and practical understanding needed to work effectively with children and vulnerable individuals in education settings.

Through case studies, scenario-based tasks, and guided tutor-led sessions, learners explore real-world situations and professional expectations, preparing them for progression into employment or Level 3 education and SEN qualifications.

Delivery Method

This course is delivered online via Microsoft Teams, with daily live sessions and structured learning activities.

Live Teaching Sessions

  • Morning session: 9:30am – 11:30am

  • Midday session: 12:30pm – 2:00pm

Optional Learner Support Session

  • Daily support drop-in: 4:00pm – 4:30pm

This course is fully funded through the Adult Skills Fund for eligible learners. Funding eligibility support is provided during enrolment.

Funding Criteria

  • Your postcode must fall within a funded area

  • You must meet residency eligibility requirements

  • Employed learners must earn below the Living Wage threshold

  • Unemployed learners must be actively seeking employment

  • If not receiving benefits, you must be looking for work and the course must support your employment goals

  • Not necessarily. This Level 2 course is recommended for learners who have completed a Level 1 course or who have relevant experience. If you are unsure, contact Aspire and we can advise on suitability.

  • Yes. The course is fully funded through the Adult Skills Fund for learners who meet eligibility criteria. Our team will support you with funding checks during enrolment.

  • You will deepen your understanding of safeguarding, Prevent duties, and behaviour that challenges, helping you feel more confident working with children and vulnerable individuals in education settings.

  • The course is delivered online via Microsoft Teams with structured daily live sessions, plus an optional tutor-led support session each afternoon.

  • You will need access to a computer or tablet and a reliable internet connection. Mobile phone access alone is not suitable.

  • Live sessions run daily from 9:30am–11:30am and 12:30pm–2:00pm. An optional support session is available from 4:00pm–4:30pm.

  • Yes, as long as you can commit to the live session times and coursework. If you are employed, you must also meet the Adult Skills Fund eligibility criteria (including the earnings threshold).

  • Successful learners can progress into Level 3 education or SEN qualifications and will receive employability support, including interview preparation and references where appropriate.
