L3 Lancashire EYFS Bootcamp
The Lancashire EYFS Bootcamp is a 6-week intensive programme designed to prepare adults for roles in early years childcare and education, including nurseries, pre-schools and reception settings. Delivered through a hybrid learning model, the course builds the practical skills, knowledge and professional behaviours needed to support children’s development, wellbeing and communication.
Course Overview
This Skills Bootcamp draws on nationally recognised NCFE CACHE units to equip learners with job-ready skills aligned to national occupational standards. The curriculum reflects current sector needs and labour market demand, supporting learners to transition quickly into sustainable employment within the early years sector.
Course Description
Delivered over six weeks, the Lancashire EYFS Bootcamp combines face-to-face learning with online delivery to provide a balanced, practical learning experience.
Learners take part in interactive lessons, group discussions, and practical and theory-based activities covering safeguarding, child development, communication and inclusive early years practice. All sessions are delivered by tutors with extensive early years experience, ensuring learning is relevant, supportive and industry-focused.

6 weeks total (hybrid model, combining in-person and online learning)
Course Units & Content
Learners will complete three accredited units from the
NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Children and Young People’s Workforce (England):
Safeguarding the wellbeing of children and young people
Supporting speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), including SEMH
Supporting positive outcomes for children and young people, including child development, wellbeing and inclusive care
The curriculum is shaped by sector requirements and labour market intelligence, ensuring learners develop relevant, employable skills.

Approximately 9:30am – 2:00pm on training days

Who This Course Is For?

It’s ideal if you’re looking to work in nurseries, pre-schools or reception settings, are changing career or returning to learning, and want job-focused training that leads quickly into employment. You must be resident in Lancashire and have a genuine interest in supporting young children’s development and wellbeing.
Funding and Eligibility
This course is fully funded through the Skills Bootcamp programme for eligible learners.
Entry Requirements
To enrol on this course, learners must:
Be aged 19 or over
Be resident in Lancashire (or an eligible area under the Skills Bootcamp programme)
Have basic English and IT skills to engage in blended learning
Have access to a computer or tablet (mobile phone access is not suitable)
Have a reliable internet connection
Be able to commit to face-to-face sessions, online learning, assignments and employability activities
Have a genuine interest in working in early years childcare or education
Funding Criteria
Residency within a funded Lancashire postcode
Must meet Skills Bootcamp residency and eligibility requirements
Commitment to progressing into employment within the early years sector
Funding eligibility support is provided during enrolment.
