Over six weeks, learners build confidence, routine and foundational knowledge through daily interactive teaching, wellbeing awareness and safeguarding training — with no prior school experience required.

The programme combines wellbeing, safeguarding and an introduction to working in schools, helping learners prepare for progression into further training or employment.
Course Description
Delivered fully online over six weeks, this course blends live tutor-led teaching with interactive activities and guided independent study. Learners develop confidence, establish positive learning habits, and gain an understanding of professional expectations within education settings.
Daily live sessions provide structure, routine and ongoing support, helping learners prepare for progression into Level 2 education or childcare pathways.

Delivery Method
This course is delivered 100% online via Microsoft Teams.
Live Teaching Sessions
Morning session: 9:30am – 11:30am
Midday session: 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Optional Learner Support Session
Daily support drop-in: 4:00pm – 4:30pm

Entry Requirements
To enrol on this course, learners must meet the following criteria:
Aged 19 or over
Basic English and IT skills
Access to a computer or tablet (mobile phone access is not suitable)
Reliable internet connection
Interest in starting a career in education
No previous school or education experience required
Funding and Eligibility
This course is fully funded through the Adult Skills Fund for eligible learners.
Funding Criteria
Your postcode must fall within a funded area
You must meet residency eligibility requirements
Employed learners must earn below the Living Wage threshold
Unemployed learners must be actively seeking employment
If not receiving benefits, you must be looking for work and the course must support your employment goals
